Our 34’ Series has proven to withstand an absolute beating that would destroy most boats. Yet a Munson will continue to get the job done for decades. Our 34’ landing craft are in service from the Arctic Slope to the Antarctica moving supplies from icebreakers to McMurdo Station. It is a proven workhorse that is capable of transporting full size vehicles, first responders, and heavy equipment up to 4-5 tons.

Charleston, SC: Located in Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter was the site of the first shots of the Civil War. Park staff commutes to the Fort Sumter National Monument 7 days per week. A special stairway and railings were installed on the bow door to access the monument dock ladder and the wheelhouse offers seating for 14 passengers. A short sliding door at the helm allows the captain to operate/tie up the boat from the console without crew.

Seattle, WA: The Arctic Survey Boat, or ASB, is a small boat carried on the Polar Class icebreaker CGC Healy. During the 2010 summer mission the ASB was frequently used by NASA researchers to collect optical information in the undisturbed water away from the ship. After Hurricane Sandy the Refuge used their Munson to transport staff and equipment to repair projects in the outer islands. Designed to haul a pickup truck, flip out ramps were installed on the bow door and the control console is mounted on a raised platform.

A white non-skid deck coating was applied to the main deck to keep the boat cool during hot summer days.
