Portland, OR: Portland Fire Rescue Boat 17 was christened the Eldon Trinity in memory of a 4 year old boy who could not be rescued in time after falling in the water. After the tragedy the department developed a plan to commission a high speed first response rescue vessel. Portland chose a Munson Catamaran for its stability and high speed handling characteristics. Outfitted with a fire pump pickup, dive bottle storage racks and 12V deck winch Eldon Trinity helps the fire department keep Portland safe.
